What is Taekwondo?
INTRODUCTION
It is one of the most popular martial arts in the world. The number of people who learns Taekwondo has increased rapidly and it has brought a lot of benefits, which are associated with people’s health in psychological and physical terms.
DEFINITION
Taekwondo, which was founded in Korea, is one of the most popular martial art turned sport that has grown as a global sport since the foundation of the World Taekwondo Federation in 1973. TAE means ‘foot’, ‘leg’, or ‘to step on’ KWON means ‘fist’, or ‘fight’ DO means ‘the way of art’ or ‘discipline’ When these words are put together, it means “ the way of kicking and punching” or “the right way of using all parts of the body”
HISTORY OF TAEKWONDO
Taekwondo has been developed for more than 2000 years in Korea. World Teakwondo Federation was founded in 1973. Taekwondo(Sparring) became an official sport in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
THE ELEMENTS OF TAEKWONDO
Taekwondo has four main elements. Basic Movements, Poomsae (Pattern), Kyorugi (Sparring), Kyukpa (Breaking).
OBJECT OF TAEKWONDO
Taekwondo learners understand the philosophy of Taekwondo as a global sport and an martial art, and this understanding should lead to better understanding and enhancement of our life. It also achieves physical development, fitness, and mental discipline through positive participation. Taekwondo is well known as one of the most effective martial arts, which has lots of benefits in terms of psychology and physical ability. Taekwondo has grown around the world; therefore, it will bring people together from across all borders.
Seong’s Oakville Taekwondo World also offer After School Programs, Summer Camp, March Break Camp, Birthday Party, Regular Kids Martial Arts Classes, Fitness Kickboxing.
Little Warriors Class
Little Warriors class is for little kids from the age of 4 to 6 years. In this class, we provide with the inspiration for the principles of Tae Kwon Do that can help your children grow into healthy and balanced individuals. Our Little Warrior class concentrates on teaching students discipline and building their focus. They also learn basic kicks, hand techniques, and blocks over the duration of the course as well as self-confidence. They learn how to express themselves in a controlled and polite manner.

Young Warriors Class
Young Warriors class available at Master Seong’s Taekwondo World is specifically designed for young children between the ages of 6 and 13. Young Warriors class is designed to develop respect, discipline, focus, and confidence, as well as a basic strength of Taekwondo skills. Through the techniques and disciplines of the Ultimate Taekwondo, young children will learn better focus, self-discipline, and respect.

Teen Warriors Class
Teens Warriors Class available at Master Seong’s Taekwondo World is specifically designed for teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18 years.
Teens Warriors class is designed to develop respect, discipline, focus, and confidence, as well as a basic strength of Taekwondo skills. Through the techniques and disciplines of the Ultimate Taekwondo, your teenagers will learn to develop their leadership, self-esteem and achievements.

Adult Warriors Class
Adult Warriors Class is for those students who are 19 years of age or older. There is no age limit for this Ultimate Taekwondo class. This class is also for all adults, who are interested in beginning or continuing their journey of learning Tae Kwon Do.
Adult Warriors Class is designed not only to teach Ultimate Taekwondo skills but also to shape their body and mind.
It also helps students achieve a balance between their body and their mind, as well as achievement for their healthy lifestyle.
